TVA’s Regional Energy Resource Council to Meet in Chattanooga. Public Comment Session Scheduled for Feb. 3

January 30, 2015

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority’s Regional Energy Resource Council will conduct a two-day public workshop Monday, Feb. 2 and Tuesday, Feb. 3 in downtown Chattanooga.

As part of the workshop, the public is invited to make comments during a public comment session on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. EST at the Chattanoogan Hotel, 1201 Broad Street, Chattanooga. Anyone wishing to make public comment should sign up at the hotel by 8:30 a.m. that morning.

The Regional Energy Resource Council, a 19-member group with representatives from across the Tennessee Valley, advises TVA on its decision making on the over-arching issues, and often competing objectives, of the various energy resources it operates. The panel is being updated on the status of the Integrated Resource Plan process. The IRP is a guideline used by TVA for its long-term energy resource planning decisions over the next decade and beyond. It allows TVA the flexibility to respond to changing market conditions and power needs across the Valley.

The workshop, being held at the Chattanoogan, begins at 10:30 a.m. EST Monday, Feb. 2 and is open to the public.
