Construction Update: Project Prepares for High Mobility Grouting Phase
With the planned November effectiveness testing of the low mobility grouting work, we are already looking forward to the next phase of the project: high mobility grouting testing.
OCTOBER 7, 2016—High mobility grouting has a much thinner consistency than the low mobility grouting (think chocolate milk vs. toothpaste) so it can make its way into smaller spaces in the earthen embankment’s geology. The combination of the two types of grouting will help make the embankment “waterproof” and prevent the kind of seepage that was detected in October 2014. It’s all a part of repairing Boone Dam so that we can restore the lake to its normal levels while ensuring the safety of the public.
