Green Power Providers

Green power, switched on! If you’re interested in installing a small-scale renewable energy system on your property—and getting paid a premium rate for every kilowatt it generates—the Green Power Program is right for you.

Green Power Providers (GPP) offers businesses and homeowners a chance to be a part of TVA’s work in generating renewable energy for the Tennessee Valley. You install a small-scale renewable energy system on your property—a solar, wind, biomass or low-impact hydro system generating 50 kilowatts or less—and TVA pays you a retail rate for every kilowatt generated by that system.

Currently 130 local power companies in the TVA service area participate in the Green Power Providers program. Step one is to check the list to see if your power provider is one of them. Step two is to let them know you intend to apply for GPP; they'll tell you about any rules or regulations specific to your service area.

Step three? You’re in the right place; all the information you need to continue your journey is on this website. Below you’ll find pertinent details to the 2017 program. Once you understand them, click on the blue button to start the application program, or—for more information—click on “How the Program Works” in the right-hand column.
