of William L. Robertson
Mr. Robertson
is the Chief Executive of Roy F. Weston Inc. (WESTON), a leading international
environmental services firm. He has more than 25 years of business development
and organizational strategy experience for a variety of engineering, technology,
and information management organizations. Prior to joining WESTON, he
advised corporations, municipalities, and government agencies about technology,
environment, and business development opportunities. For the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mr. Robertson served as the Associate Chief
of Engineers (Strategic Initiatives), responsible for program development
and strategic direction for that $10 billion agency. He was also Chairman
of OneSoft Corporation, a Virginia-based software development firm that
provides a variety of interactive information and communications solutions
for government and industry.
Professional
Qualifications
Mr. Robertson has served as an advisor to numerous industries and has
spent more than two decades in various sectors of the U.S. Department
of Defense, including the USACE on a wide variety of international and
domestic issues.
In the late 1980s,
he was appointed Associate Chief of Engineers (Strategic Initiatives)
by LTG. H.J. Hatch, then Chief of Engineers. In this position, Robertson
was responsible for directing Corps-wide strategic thinking processes
and assisting in the identification, development, and implementation of
strategic opportunities and long-term strategic direction for the organization.
Prior to this position, he entered the Corps Senior Executive Service
and was appointed Deputy Chief Counsel for the Corps of Engineers in Washington,
D.C.
In 1991, Mr. Robertson was
instrumental in founding the World Engineering Partnership for Sustainable
Development, a coalition of the worlds largest engineering organizations.
The Partnerships objective is to unite the international engineering
community around the issue of sustainable development and act as a catalyst
for sustainable engineering and global environmental action.
