Jack Simmons

Jack Simmons is President and CEO of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA), which represents the interests of the 155 municipal and cooperative distribution utilities that purchase wholesale electric power from TVA. He is also President of Distributors Insurance Company and President and CEO of Seven States Power Corporation, which partners with TVA to jointly own power generating assets for the Tennessee Valley.

Simmons has over 37 years of electric utility experience, including 18 years with TVA, where he directed the operation of TVA’s power system control center and was responsible for the planning, support, and operation of short- and mid-range power requirements for the TVA system.

Prior to joining TVPPA, he spent eight years as an electric-power consultant working with public power utilities, investor-owned utilities, and independent power producers.

Simmons holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, he is a registered Professional Engineer, and past president of the Chattanooga Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He has served on various committees of the Southeastern Electric Reliability Council and currently serves on the board of directors of Tennessee Valley Infrastructure Group, Inc.
