Robert Martineau

Robert “Bob” Martineau is the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner with Waller Lansden Dortch and Davis, PLLC, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Martineau has more than 25 years of experience as an attorney in the field of environmental law, having served as senior attorney in the EPA’s Office of the General Counsel, where he provided counsel in developing New Source Review, New Source Performance Standards and Air Toxics regulations.
Martineau is a member of the Air and Waste Management Association and a former council member of the Section of Natural Resources, Energy and Environmental Law of the American Bar Association. He is active in the community serving as past president of First Steps, Inc., the Tennessee Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and Community Health Charities, Tennessee Chapter. Martineau currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and Cumberlands.
Martineau holds a B.A. in Government from St. John’s University and a J.D. from the University of Cincinnati.
