Brad J. Kreps
Brad Kreps is the Director of the Nature Conservancy’s Clinch Valley Program, focused on the preservation and protection of 2,200 square miles of mountains and valleys in southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee.
In this capacity, Kreps works with public and private partners to: reduce the impact of mining on the Clinch Valley’s land and water; demonstrate sustainable forestry and agriculture; conduct river monitoring; protect critical natural areas; influence regulations and policy, and support environmentally friendly economic development.
Prior to his current position, he managed the Nature Conservancy’s Warm Springs Mountain Preserve and conservation partnerships across western Virginia’s Allegheny Highlands.
Kreps holds a B.S. in Anthropology from James Madison University and an M.S. in Geography and Environmental Policy from the University of Tennessee.
