Guntersville and Wilson lock closures

The main locks at Guntersville and Wilson Dams will close for several weeks this summer for scheduled maintenance.

The closures are tentatively scheduled for June 2 to 23 at Guntersville and July 14 to August 11 at Wilson.

Maintenance schedules are subject to change. Check the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Web site for the latest information.

Both Guntersville and Wilson dams have smaller auxiliary locks that will remain open for river traffic during these closures.

Emergencies such as barge accidents, high or low water conditions, and lock equipment failure also can require closing locks at any time, so it’s a good idea to check the Corps' Web site whenever you plan to travel by boat on the Tennessee River system.
