Apply online for a 26a construction permit

Obtaining a permit for small shoreline construction projects is now faster thanks to TVA’s online application process.

Small projects include stabilizing the shoreline or building a boat dock, pier or boat ramp. Prior to beginning any construction activities on the shoreline, a TVA 26a construction permit is required.

Applying and paying online for a 26a construction permit is easy and secure, and it will speed up the review process. All you need to do is enter your name and contact information, describe the project, submit drawings or pictures and enter your credit card information. Once the information is entered, the application is initiated. You’ll receive a confirmation email when TVA receives your application.

If you are applying for a permit for a larger project, such as a commercial marina, community dock or barge terminal, you must continue to mail a standard application package to the appropriate TVA Watershed Team office for full review. Learn more.

Additional information about TVA’s permitting process is available by calling TVA’s Environmental Information Center at 800-882-5263.
