Ordering Information

Normally, requests for stock items are handled the same day they are received. For maps and data that require reproductions, allow three to five days. Our staff will handle requests promptly and courteously.

If we receive a written request for maps or data we do not have, we will suggest possible alternative sources or will forward the request to agencies we know can help.

Most of the maps listed here are published editions, offered at a nominal price. Other maps and drawings must be reproduced individually from tracings or films, and the prices for those items are based on the drawing size.

Handling charges
On orders up to $50: $5
On orders over $50: 10 percent of price

Research fee
A fee of $35 an hour, with a one-half-hour minimum, will be charged for

• Inquiries that require more than 15 minutes’ research time
  
• Requests that require more research time than the value of the product sold.

Research is often required to fulfill requests on the availability of aerial photography, original map compilation information, land acquisition or disposal actions, and survey control information.

When requesting information, you are advised to ask whether the research fee applies to your request.

Rush orders

• We offer same-day service on items in stock. Orders received before 2 p.m. Eastern time will be shipped on that day. There is a 50 percent surcharge for the special handling of rush orders.
  
• We offer rush service for material requiring reproduction in the photo lab or reproduction shop. There is a 100 percent surcharge for priority handling. Such orders are generally shipped within five days of receipt of the request.

Payment method
For mail orders, payment may be made by check, money order, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). We do not accept stamps or foreign currency as payment, and we do not ship items c.o.d.

Materials are shipped first class via the U.S. Postal Service. Overnight express shipments can be made, with charges added to the total cost.
