Request for permanent easement

Location

Beech River, Decatur County, Tennessee

Description

The City of Parsons, Tennessee, has requested that TVA grant a permanent easement for the construction, use, and maintenance of a right-of-way for water system improvements. These improvements would provide a safe and reliable supply of raw water to the city.

The city is interested in constructing a waterline and raw water intake structure. Approximately 1.1 miles of the 18-inch pipeline and a concrete intake structure would be located within a 40 foot right-of-way and affect approximately 5.4 acres of TVA-managed land. The waterline would be constructed adjacent to Beech River, across the mouth of Beech River and proceeding 2,000 feet upstream to the intake structure.

TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential of the proposed action to affect the environment or historic properties and in identifying any other issues associated with this proposal. These comments will be used in reaching a decision concerning the proposed action.
