Public NoticeTennessee Valley Authority June 15 , 2006 Proposed actionPrivate covered floating dock and riprap bank stabilization LocationLittle Hurricane Creek mile 3.3, right bank, Elk River mile 146.0, right bank, Tims Ford Reservoir, Franklin, County, Tennessee DescriptionThe proposed work would consist of the construction of a private covered floating dock for Northlake Estates Phase I Subdivision. The floating dock would be parallel to the shoreline and 105 feet wide. It would extend 63 feet lakeward from the normal summer pool elevation 888.0 feet. The entire facility would be constructed of galvanized aluminum and supported by encapsulated foam and would be held in place by a stiff arm anchoring system. The facility would be able to accommodate approximately 10 boats. In addition, the applicant proposes to stabilize 1,900 feet of shoreline with riprap for erosion control. TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential of the proposed action to affect the environment or historic properties, and would like to identify any other issues associated with this proposal.
