December 9, 2003 Proposed actionPermanent recreation easement LocationTellico Reservoir, Monroe County, Tennessee DescriptionThe Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and TVA held an open house on December 18 at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tennessee, to get public input regarding a proposed commercial recreation resort to be constructed on approximately 40 acres of TVA-managed land. The property is located on Tellico Reservoir in Monroe County, Tennessee, within the city limits of the Town of Vonore, along U.S. Highway 411. This proposal is consistent with the current recreation land use designation as indicated in the Tellico Reservoir Land Plan. TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential of the proposed action to affect the environment or historic properties and in identifying any other issues associated with this proposal.
