Sale of TVA property at Wheeler Reservoir

Location

Wheeler Reservoir, at Tennessee River mile 305.8 (left bank) in Morgan County, Alabama

Description

TVA is considering the sale of approximately 0.6 acres of land on Wheeler Reservoir in Decatur, Alabama, at a public auction. TVA is seeking public comment prior to deciding on the sale.

The property has been requested by Bunge North America, Incorporated. It is located on Wheeler Reservoir, at Tennessee River mile 305.8 (left bank) in Morgan County, Alabama. The property has been verified as suitable for industrial development in accordance with TVA’s land policy and could be considered for sale following an environmental review process.

TVA is interested in receiving comments on the potential for the proposed action to affect the environment or historic properties, and to identify any other issues associated with this proposal. The comments will be considered to reach a decision concerning the proposed action. TVA will be conferring with the Alabama Historical Commission and other agencies as needed. After completion of the environmental review, if TVA decides to sell the property, the property will be sold at public auction.

Any comments received, including names and addresses, will become part of the administrative record and will be available for public inspection.
