Ashok Bhatnagar was named Senior Vice President, Nuclear Operations, in June 2004. He is responsible for managing and directing the operations and support activities for all three TVA nuclear sites, as well as overseeing corporate activities related to areas such as equipment reliability, technical programs reliability, and process methods.

Bhatnagar, who has more than 25 years of experience in the nuclear industry and an extensive background in nuclear engineering and operations, joined TVA in 1999 as Site Support Manager for Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, with responsibility for engineering, project management, and business work performance functions. In 2000 he was promoted to Plant Manager and in June 2001 to Vice President for the site, providing general management and oversight of all operations activities.

At Duke Energy, where he began his nuclear industry career, Bhatnagar held several positions, including Superintendent of Operations and Electrical Systems and Equipment Manager.

Bhatnagar earned a B.S. degree in nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University. He is a graduate of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations’ Senior Nuclear Plant Management Course and earned a Senior Reactor Operator’s license at Catawba Nuclear Station.
