TVA Project to Impact Interstate Traffic Near Franklin, Ky. Postponed

Unfortunately the weather forecast has deteriorated for the Franklin area this weekend.  We are going to have to reschedule the I65 crossing until Dec. 16 - 19.

FRANKLIN, Ky. ― A Tennessee Valley Authority project to install transmission lines will disrupt overnight traffic on Interstate 65 near Exit 6 for several nights this month.

TVA is building two miles of transmission line to power Warren Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation’s new substation in the Sanders Interstate Industrial Park. The line will cross the interstate south of Exit 6.

Construction will result in rolling roadblocks in that area beginning Sunday, Dec. 9.  All work will be conducted between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. CST.  Traffic control signs will be in place during the work period.
Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider another route. In the event of inclement weather, the work may be extended or rescheduled.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for business customers and distribution utilities that serve 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average. TVA, which receives no taxpayer money and makes no profits, also provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development.
