TVA Names Vice President For IT Enterprise Support, Customer Operations

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority has named Paula Sharpe Brockhoff as the new vice president for Enterprise Support and Customer Operations in TVA’s Information Technology organization.

Brockhoff will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of TVA’s information technology infrastructure, TVA Chief Information Officer Dan Traynor said.

Brockhoff comes to TVA from Atlanta, Ga.-based Southern Company, where she was director of information technology at Southern subsidiary Southern Power, among the largest wholesale energy providers in the Southeast.

Among her accomplishments there, Brockhoff established a governance model for information technology investments to make sure they were in line with the business unit’s strategic plan. Brockhoff, who also worked at Southern Company affiliate Georgia Power, has held a variety of IT leadership positions during her career and has extensive experience leading organizational and process-improvement efforts.

“The enterprise support and customer operations function ensures the performance and availability of the systems critical to the daily operation of TVA,” Traynor said. “Paula’s more than 30 years’ experience in information technology and the electric utility industry will be valuable assets to TVA and the IT business unit.”

Brockhoff holds a bachelor’s of science degree in management from Shorter College and certification in the general management program at Harvard Business School.

She will report to Traynor and be based at TVA’s Chattanooga Office Complex.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average. TVA, which receives no taxpayer money and makes no profits, also provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development.
