October 28, 2010

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. ― The Tennessee Valley Authority is closing roads on the Muscle Shoals reservation to all traffic on Saturday, Oct. 30, during races to benefit the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Northwest Alabama.

Roads will be closed for six hours ― from 7 a.m. to noon CDT― during the annual TVA-sponsored event. Races include the second annual “Life Without Limits” Half Marathon, 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run.

Proceeds will go to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation of Northwest Alabama, which has been serving children and adults with disabilities for more than 40 years.

The routes and various events will encompass the entire reservation, from Veteran’s Drive north of Wilson Dam in Florence to Hatch Boulevard in Sheffield.

TVA Police will provide traffic control, assisted by Florence Police, Sheffield Police, the Alabama Department of Transportation and United Cerebral Palsy Foundation volunteers.
