TVA To Close One Lane on Ft. Loudoun Dam for Bridge Inspections

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – Traffic across Fort Loudoun Dam on U.S. Highway 321 near Lenoir City, Tenn., will be reduced to one lane for bridge inspection on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and Thursday, Sept. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT.

After bridge inspection activities are completed on the U.S. 321 Bridge, one lane of the State Highway 444 Bridge (Tellico Parkway) across the Little Tennessee River near the Tellico Dam will close on Thursday, Sept. 8, for bridge inspection. Inspection work will be completed by 3 p.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the work may be extended or rescheduled. Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider another route. TVA Police will be assisting with the lane closure.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average. TVA, which receives no taxpayer money and makes no profits, also provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development.
