TVA To Redeem Debt Securities
Aug. 27, 2009
TVA will redeem 18 issues of securities from its electronotes(R) series on Friday, Sept. 25. The principal amount to be redeemed is approximately $247 million.
Each of the securities will be redeemed at 100 percent of par value. The redemption price and any accrued interest will be paid to eligible holders through The Depository Trust Company (DTC).

TVA’s electronotes(R) program offers securities for retail investors in a variety of structures. The electronotes(R) have maturities of up to 30 years, and certain issues are redeemable by TVA prior to maturity. As of June 30, 2009, TVA had 33 issues of electronotes(R) outstanding. TVA offers new electronotes(R) from time to time, generally on a monthly basis.
TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financing. TVA provides power to large industries and 158 power distributors that serve approximately 9 million consumers in seven southeastern states. TVA also manages the Tennessee River and its tributaries to provide multiple benefits, including flood damage reduction, navigation, water quality and recreation.
