Federal Employees Assist 34 Agencies During Annual CFC Day of Caring

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - More than 400 federal employees are scheduled to work in Chattanooga area service agencies Friday, Aug. 28, during the Greater Chattanooga Area Combined Federal Campaign’s (CFC) 17th Annual Day of Caring.

“By giving their time together on the annual day of caring, federal employees see first- hand how their efforts make a difference,” said TVA Executive Vice President of Power Supply and Fuels Van Wardlaw, chairman of the 2009 Greater Chattanooga Area Combined Federal Campaign. “The giving spirit of federal employees is exhibited throughout the year, and it’s clearly apparent on the CFC Day of Caring.”

Employees will provide hands-on assistance for various requested projects – such as painting, building, cleaning, landscaping and cooking – to 34 local non-profit service agencies that receive contributions from the CFC.

The Chattanooga Area Combined Federal Campaign includes more than 9,400 Federal employees in 21 counties in East Tennessee, Northeast Alabama, Northwest Georgia and Western North Carolina. Since 1987, gifts have totaled more than $29 million. For additional information see www.chattanoogacfc.org.
