TVA To Redeem Debt Securities

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Tennessee Valley Authority, taking advantage of market conditions, will redeem one issue of bonds from its electronotes series on April 8, 2013.

TVA will redeem all of its 2010, 4.3-percent electronotes due March 15, 2025. These securities are identified by the CUSIP number 88059TEZ0. Approximately $22.1 million of this series is currently outstanding.

The notes will be redeemed at 100 percent of par value. The redemption price and any accrued interest will be paid to eligible holders through The Depository Trust Company.

TVA’s electronotes program offers securities for retail investors in a variety of structures. The electronotes have maturities of up to 30 years, and certain issues are redeemable by TVA prior to maturity. TVA offers new electronotes from time to time, generally on a monthly basis.

The Tennessee Valley Authority is a corporate agency of the United States that provides electricity for business customers and local power distributors serving 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states. TVA receives no taxpayer funding, deriving virtually all of its revenues from sales of electricity. In addition to operating and investing its revenues in its electric system, TVA provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists local power companies and state and local governments with economic development and job creation.
