CENTRAL CITY, Ky. -- The Tennessee Valley Authority donated $5,000 to Junior Achievement of Western Kentucky. The funds will support various programs across Muhlenberg County.

“Junior Achievement helps prepare students for a productive future, and TVA supports programs that benefit the communities we serve,” said Nancy Mitchell, TVA Valley Relations manager.

Junior Achievement reaches more than 70 classrooms in Muhlenberg County, with lessons on business, financial literacy and economics. The program serves 24 counties in western Kentucky and Perry County, Ind.

TVA has supported Junior Achievement of Western Kentucky since 2006 through its corporate contribution program and employees’ volunteer service.

TVA serves more than 200,000 households across 7,500 square miles in
Kentucky.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average.
