January 7, 2010
Jason Harper has been named manager of TVA’s Government and Valley Relations’ Alabama District. Harper succeeds Waymon Pace who retired.
As district manager based in Huntsville, Harper will work to build upon TVA’s strong relationship and communication with public officials in north Alabama, where TVA provides power to 25 distributors.
“Jason’s previous experience and expertise in working closely with Alabama public officials will greatly benefit TVA’s commitment to keep public officials informed of our business activities in north Alabama,” Government and Valley Relations Vice President Bob Morris said.
Harper previously served as a district field representative for U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt, R-Ala. He also served as a legislative aide in the office of Alabama House Speaker Seth Hammett, where he worked closely with the Alabama Law Institute.
Harper is an active participant and leader in community and charitable organizations in Alabama. He is chairman of the Marshall County Leadership Challenge and a participant of the 2009 class of Alabama Leadership Initiative. He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala., and also holds an education specialist degree from Berry College in Rome, Ga.
