TVA To Redeem Debt Securities

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority will redeem four bond issues totaling about $33.4 million from its electronotes(R) series on July 15, 2010.
TVA will redeem:

All of its 2004, 4.50 percent electronotes(R) due March 15, 2019. The principal amount to be redeemed is approximately $12 million. These securities are identified by the CUSIP number 88059TCX7.
All of its 2005, 5.125 percent electronotes(R) due May 15, 2025. The principal amount to be redeemed is approximately $12.7 million. These securities are identified by the CUSIP number 88059TDC2.
All of its 2005, 4.80 percent electronotes(R) due September 15, 2020. The principal amount to be redeemed is approximately $2.5 million. These securities are identified by the CUSIP number 88059TDG3.
All of its 2006, 5.50 percent electronotes(R) due February 15, 2026. The principal amount to be redeemed is approximately $6.2 million. These securities are identified by the CUSIP number 88059TDM0.

The redemption price on each issue is 100 percent of par value and will be paid to eligible holders, along with any accrued interest, through The Depository Trust Company.

TVA’s electronotes(R) program offers securities for retail investors in a variety of structures. The electronotes(R) have maturities of up to 30 years, and certain issues are redeemable by TVA prior to maturity. TVA offers new electronotes(R) from time to time as market conditions and TVA requirements warrant.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, a corporation owned by the U.S. government, provides electricity for 9 million people in parts of seven southeastern states at prices below the national average. TVA, which receives no taxpayer money and makes no profits, also provides flood control, navigation and land management for the Tennessee River system and assists utilities and state and local governments with economic development.
