May 13, 2009
LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – Traffic crossing TVA’s Fort Loudoun Dam on U.S. Highway 321 and State Route 73 will be restricted to one lane from late May through early August for a construction project to repair the bridge deck.
Repairs will include removing the top portion of the concrete deck of the bridge and replacing it with new concrete, as well as replacing expansion joints on the bridge.
One lane will be closed temporarily beginning Monday, May 18, for the installation of traffic control devices and signs in preparation for the construction project. Construction is scheduled to begin as early as May 26. When construction begins, one lane across the dam will be closed at all times until early August.
Residents are encouraged to seek alternate routes during this time.
