TVA Announces Personnel Changes in Fuel Supply Organization

Mike Hendon, who has more than 30 years experience in the coal industry, has been named senior manager of coal acquisition and supply in TVA’s Commercial Operations and Fuels organization.

Hendon joined TVA in 2001 and has worked in coal acquisition, fuel supply analysis, financial trading, and most recently as senior manager of Portfolio Analysis and Support.  Prior to coming to TVA, he worked for 25 years in the coal industry with Drummond Company, Inc.

Hendon succeeds Richard Rea, who is retiring from TVA effective Aug. 8.  Rea plans to pursue a Master of Divinity degree at Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky.  Rea has worked for more than 30 years in the coal and utility industry, leading TVA’s coal acquisition program for the past 16 years.

TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financing.  TVA provides power to large industries and 159 power distributors that serve approximately 8.8 million consumers in seven southeastern states.  TVA also manages the Tennessee River and its tributaries to provide multiple benefits, including flood damage reduction, navigation, water quality and recreation.
