John E. Long Jr.

Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President, Administrative Services

John E. Long Jr. serves as Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice President of Administrative Services at TVA.

In this position he is responsible for Administrative Services including Business Services; Employee Relations and Diversity; Enterprise Performance & Analysis; Facilities Management; Human Resources; Information Services; Procurement; and the TVA Police.

Long, who was previously Executive Vice President of Human Resources, is also TVA’s Designated Safety and Health Official, and since 1992 he has served as a management appointee to the TVA Retirement System board.

He began his TVA career in 1980 as a personnel officer in Engineering Design and has held various human resource positions during his years with the corporation.

Long earned a B.S. and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He has also earned certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
