Celebrating 100 years and four generations

 

Retiree Henry Evans holds his great-granddaughter, Lily, whom he is seeing for the first time, at Evans’s 100th birthday party March 28 in Muscle Shoals. Son Gary Evans, a Technical Services Analyst in Combustion Process & Water Treatment, Fossil Power Group, left, and grandson Ben Evans were among the 250 people who attended the birthday celebration.

Henry Evans worked for TVA for 31 years, retiring in 1973 as an engineering associate in the Air-Quality Branch. “Henry was a dependable, talented and hard-working employee,” says John Blackwell, who worked with Evans from 1966-1973 and took part in the event. “He helped develop some of the very earliest techniques for air-quality sampling.”
