Morgan County Vocational Technical School in Wartburg, Tennessee, is the host site for a 7 kilowatt solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The school offers a wide spectrum of vocational and academic classes. With a solar-energy system right on campus, students will be able to learn firsthand about the operation and performance of photovoltaic modules.

The system consists of a single array containing a total of 72 PV modules, which are mounted on a canopy that was built and installed by the students. The students also built the shelter that houses the equipment used to convert the power for use on the electric grid.

Plateau Electric Cooperative is TVA’s partner in this solar site.
