American Museum of Science & EnergyAmerican Museum of Science & Energy

The American Museum of Science & Energy (AMSE) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is a perfect place to educate the public about the benefits of solar power. The museum’s 17-kilowatt solar installation with its 400 photovoltaic (PV) modules will offer visitors a close-up look at just how solar power is harnessed.

Formerly the American Museum of Atomic Energy, the museum broadened its focus in 1978, and today its interactive exhibits showcase fossil fuels and alternative energy sources. Science education programs and live demonstrations add to visitors’ understanding of all types of power production. Go to the museum’s Web site for more information on its exhibits, history, and special programs.

TVA’s utility partner in the construction of this PV site is the Oak Ridge Electric Department.
