Sci-Quest

The 30 kilowatt photovoltaic (PV) generating system at Sci-Quest, the North Alabama Science Center Inc., is one of the newest installments at the nonprofit, hands-on science center. Sci-Quest offers visitors of all ages the chance to learn and have fun at the same time. Through more than 60 interactive exhibits and experiments, and new exhibits arriving monthly, the center promotes an understanding of today’s technology and stimulates creative thinking about the future.

The PV system, mounted on a canopy next to the museum, consists of three arrays with a total of 720 PV modules. The electricity generated by the PV system will go into the power grid via Huntsville Utilities, the local distributor of TVA power.
