Green Power Switch News
Vol. 6, No. 1 Spring 2006
Energy efficiency paired with renewable energy – the ultimate green power switch!
Change a lightbulb and save some of your green! You can save nearly $50 over the life of a compact
fluorescent lightbulb (CFL) as compared with a traditional incandescent bulb. Using a 75-watt incandescent bulb for eight hours a day tacks $15 a year onto your energy bill. Changing to a 23-watt CFL will save $11 a year. CFLs cost around $5 each, so they will pay for themselves in the first six months, and you will continue to reap the savings for the remainder of the
five-year (average) life of
the bulb!
