The science and technology problems the utility industry faces today and in the future are complex. The question of how we will meet our energy needs while protecting the environment has technical, social and economic implications for the industry and the country.
Because of the size and complexity of such problems, solving them is expected to be expensive. Solutions will require expertise in both technological innovation and practical applications.
Partnerships provide TVA opportunities to leverage TVA’s internal expertise by accessing other organizations' unique capabilities and know-how to help meet TVA’s technical and scientific needs.
To do so effectively TVA must coordinate external contacts and relationships, monitor the value of those relationships and track performance. Our relationships with partners not only allow us to enhance research and development, but give us valuable experience with the way other organizations tackle common challenges, and ultimately improve our own performance.
