Weir 161-KV Transmission LineChoctaw County, Mississippi To improve power reliability and meet growing power demands in the area, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) proposes to construct a new 161-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to serve a new substation to be constructed near Weir, Mississippi, by 4-County Electric Power Association. The proposed transmission line would connect to the TVA Red Hills-Sturgis 161-kV line north of Ackerman, Mississippi. It would run approximately 7.7 miles to the new substation and would be located on new 100-foot-wide right-of-way. Six new access roads would be required for construction and maintenance access. TVA has prepared a Final Environmental Assessment (FEA) which considered the impacts of the No Action Alternative and the Proposed Action Alternative, and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
