TWRA - Yuchi Wildlife Refuge

Rhea County, Tennessee

On November 16, 2005, TVA issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) and adopted a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers environmental assessment regarding a proposal by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to construct and operate sub-impoundments and associated water control structures at the Yuchi Wildlife Refuge in Rhea County, Tennessee.

TWRA proposes to place fill in approximately 0.75 acre of wetland to create one sub-impoundment structure and fill at four other locations in unnamed tributaries of the Tennessee River to create additional sub-impoundment structures. The structures would be used to seasonally impound up to 91 acres at full pool elevation for wintering waterfowl (November to February).
