State Route 58 Bridge Replacement

Meigs County, Tennessee

TVA issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) on December 22, 2004 on the Tennessse Department of Transportation's proposal to replace the State Route 58 Hiwassee River Bridge in Meigs County, Tennessee. The new bridge would be constructed downstream (west) of the existing bridge. To construct the bridge, an easement for the use of TVA land and an approval under Section 26a of the TVA Act are needed. TVA prepared the EA in order to better understand the impacts to the existing wetlands and cultural resources from the project. The USACE participated as a cooperating agency in preparation of the EA.
