Shady Oaks Community Dock

Guntersville Reservoir, Marshall County, Alabama

On May 16, 2007, TVA issued a finding of no significant impact and adopted a final environmental assessment (EA) prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the Shady Oaks Subdivision community docks project. TVA participated in the development of the Corps EA as a cooperating agency.

The developer of this subdivision on the Jagger Branch of Guntersville Reservoir proposed to construct a fixed community dock for the private use of residents. The dock, which would accommodate 20 boats, as well as the installation of a culvert to improve storm-water drainage, requires approval by TVA under Section 26a of the TVA Act. TVA has subsequently issued a Section 26a permit for these facilities.
