West Point-SeverCorr 161-kV Transmission LineLowndes and Clay Counties, Mississippi This final Environmental Assessment addresses the proposal by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to serve the new SeverCorr 161-kV Substation at Lowndes County-Golden Triangle Megasite by building an approximately 20.5 mile, 161-kilovolt (kV) transmission line connection from TVA’s existing West Point 161-kV Substation, located north of West Point in Clay County Mississippi, to SeverCorr’s planned SeverCorr 161-kV Substation. TVA would rebuild 14.7 miles of double-circuit 161-kV transmission line on mostly existing right-of-way and construct 5.8 miles of new 161-kV transmission line on new right-of-way 100 feet in width. An additional 12.5 feet of new right-of-way would be required along the existing transmission line right-of-way. TVA has reviewed the public comments regarding the proposal and evaluated the environmental data on alternative routes for the transmission line. Based on this, TVA has selected the Route D alternative as the preferred route. DocumentsPDF files require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
