City View at Riverwalk Marina Facilities
Knox County, Tennessee
On November 8, 2006 TVA issued a finding of no significant impact and adopted a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers environmental assessment (EA) for a proposal by City View at Riverwalk, LLC to construct a marina and associated facilities for a residential and recreational development. The proposal requires a TVA Section 26a permit. TVA issued its permit on November 9, 2006. TVA was a cooperating agency in the preparation of the EA.
The development is at the former Knoxville Glove Company site located adjacent to Tennessee River Mile 647.2, left bank, Fort Loudoun Reservoir in Knox County, Tennessee. The proposed marina would include 91 boat slips, store/rowing boathouse, and fueling and sewage pump-out facilities. To insure sufficient depth for boat navigation at the marina, approximately 25,000 cubic yards (CY) of bottom material would be dredged from an area approximately 175 feet wide by 900 feet long. Other proposed actions include maintenance of the rip rap along the shoreline and a stormwater outfall and removal of an existing dock and boat ramp.
