Sewage System Facilities for New Mississippi Toyota Plant
Lee County, Mississippi
On June 11, 2008, TVA issued an environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for its administration of a $1.5 million Appalachian Regional Commission grant to help fund the construction of an 11.9 mile sewer force main near Tupelo, Mississippi. The proposed sewer line is to serve the new Toyota Mississippi Manufacturing facility being built in Pontotoc and Union Counties near the community of Blue Springs. The remainder of the $9.3 million cost of the line and associated pumping station upgrade is being paid by the State of Mississippi, acting through the Pontotoc, Union, and Lee County Alliance. The Alliance will own the line and is responsible for its construction.
