The Preserve Marina Owners Association Community Dock-Haw Branch

Pickwick Reservoir, Hardin County, Tennessee

In July, 2007, TVA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) issued a Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) of proposed private water use facilities in Haw Branch on Pickwick Reservoir.

In December 2006, TVA and COE received a joint application from The Preserve Marina Owners Association, Inc. for community boat slips and a boat ramp in Haw Branch, along the right descending bank of Pickwick Reservoir at Tennessee River Mile 209.6. TVA and COE have prepared a DEA of the effects of permitting, constructing, and operating these facilities. The DEA also evaluates an associated access road from the ramp to upland boat dry storage facility that would be built on nearby private land.

The boat slips, ramp, and associated shoreline alterations require approval by TVA under Section 26a of the TVA Act and by the COE under Section 10 of the River and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.

TVA and COE accepted comments on the DEA through August 20, 2007. They are presently preparing the Final Environmental Assessment.
