Lakeshore Park Foreshore Dike

To prevent further shoreline erosion from jeopardizing facilities and resources within Lakeshore Park, the City of Knoxville requested approval under Section 26a to construct a dike just upstream of the mouth of Fourth Creek, between Tennessee River Mile 640.0R and 640.4 (right bank), Fort Loudoun Reservoir. Shoreline erosion occurring along this park boundary is threatening its infrastructure, in particular, a golf course, a paved walking trail, fences, and light poles, as well as the narrow riparian shoreline buffer zone.
