Lagoon Creek Combined-Cycle Generating Plant Upgrade
Haywood County, Tennessee
On August 8, 2008, TVA completed its final supplemental environmental assessment (EA) and issued a finding of no significant impact (FONSI) on the proposal to install and operate two additional combustion turbines and a steam turbine at its Lagoon Creek combined-cycle, natural gas-fueled generating plant. Both of these documents may be viewed online by accessing the links below.
In March 2007, TVA issued a final EA (available at the link below) of its proposed purchase of the unfinished Tenaska generating plant in Haywood County. The 2007 EA also described various scenarios for completing and operating the plant. TVA subsequently purchased the site and now plans to complete and operate the plant. TVA therefore issued the final supplemental EA and FONSI of a plant completion and operation scenario consisting of the installation of two combustion turbines and a steam turbine, resulting in an approximately 600-megawatt combined-cycle plant.
