Kingston Scrubber Addition

The Tennessee Valley Authority has prepared a Final Environmental Assessment and a Finding of No Significant Impact for a project to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO₂) emissions at Kingston Fossil Plant, in Roane County, Tennessee. The project will install flue gas desulfurization equipment that employs the wet limestone forced oxidation technology. TVA needs to reduce system wide SO₂ emissions to meet requirements under the 1990 Clean Air Act amendments. Reductions at Kingston Fossil Plant would help TVA meet those requirements. This Final Environmental Assessment considers the impacts of the No Action Alternative and variations of the Action Alternative.
