Johnsonville Fossil Plant

Humphreys County, Tennessee

As part of its systemwide goal of reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, TVA is proposing to install selective noncatalytic reduction systems (SNCRs) on Units 2, 3, and 4, or any combination of these units, at Johnsonville Fossil Plant. A similar SNCR system was installed previously on Unit 1. Substantial reductions of NOx, a precursor to ozone formation, are expected. TVA issued an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact for the project on May 25, 2006
