Gallaway Power Supply Upgrade

Summary

To serve the substation planned by Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation near Gallaway, Tennessee, TVA proposes to construct a 161-kV transmission line from its existing South Jackson-South Memphis 161-kV line, located in the nearby Hickory Withe community, to the new Gallaway Substation.

TVA has reviewed the public comments regarding the proposal and evaluated the environmental data on alternative routes for the transmission line. Based on these comments, TVA has selected a modified Route D alternative as its preferred route.

TVA has prepared this final environmental assessment evaluating the effects of building approximately 5.8 miles of 161-kV transmission line. Additional information on the planning process is available here.
