Chicago Bridge and Iron Proposed Easement

Guntersville Reservoir, Marion County, Tennessee

On July 8, 2009, TVA released a final environmental assessment (FEA) and issued a finding of no significant impact for a request by Chicago Bridge and Iron for a 1.1-acre portion of TVA property located within Tract XGR-172PT2 on Guntersville Reservoir at Tennessee River Mile 423.8, left bank, Marion County, Tennessee. The request also includes the relocation of a portion of the Nickajack-Jasper 161-kilovolt Transmission Line Tap to Kimball Tap to Tennol. TVA approval is required under Section 26a of the TVA Act for fill material, two storm water outfalls, a launching ramp, and a crane platform.

The launching ramp and crane platform also require approval by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. USACE was a cooperating agency in the development of the FEA.

A draft environmental assessment was available for public review from November 21 through December 22, 2008. All comments received were addressed in the FEA.
