Bull Run Scrubber AdditionAnderson County, TN The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has proposed to reduce sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions at Bull Run Fossil Plant (BRF), in Anderson County, TN, by installing flue gas desulfurization equipment that employs the wet limestone forced oxidation technology. TVA needs to reduce system-wide SO2 emissions to meet requirements under the 1990 Clean Air Act, as amended. Reductions at BRF would help TVA meet those requirements. TVA held a local public meeting on February 10, 2005, and accepted public comment from January 31 to March 1, 2005, on the draft of the Environmental Assessment. After consideration of comments received, TVA has prepared a Final Environmental Assessment (FEA) which considered the impacts of the No Action Alternative and several sub-options under the Proposed Action Alternative, and issued a Finding of No Significant Impact.
