Biggersville, Mississippi, 161-kilovolt Transmission Line - Provide Delivery Point
Alcorn County, Mississippi
On January 15, 2010, TVA issued an environmental assessment and finding of no significant impact for its proposal to construct and operate a 161-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to supply electric power to a new substation being constructed near Biggersville, Mississippi, by Alcorn County Electric Power Association (ACEPA). The proposed 9.2-mile 161-kV transmission line in Alcorn County would connect the ACEPA’s new Biggersville Substation to TVA’s existing Corinth 161-kV Substation.
The transmission line would utilize mostly double-pole steel structures on new 100-foot right-of-way occupying about 110 acres. Additionally, following the construction of the new substation and transmission line, TVA proposes to retire the Reinzi 46-kV Substation.
